Aurora Cañero

Born and living in Spain, Aurora Cañero’s bronze sculptures express the intangible dimensions of spirituality, imagination and emotion. Her sophisticated use of allegory and symbol illuminate the mystery of the unconscious and metamorphosis. The figures, very classical men and women, are contemplative and curious. Often engaged in thinking or looking, in a setting gently unmoored from reality, they echo the perceptual encounter of looking at art, a moment where imagination reigns.

Cañero lives in Madrid, Spain and has exhibited internationally since 1980.
